Events & Initiatives
Hosted Town Hall with Father Peter, where students got the chance to ask questions to Villanova's leader directly.
Hosted Pizza with the Provost, which allowed students to hear directly from Villanova's chief academic officer.
Hosted Feast with the Friars, where students got to share a meal and fellowship with members of Villanova's Augustinian community.
Hosted a Halloween Meet the SGA event to give students the opportunity to meet their representatives.
Advocated for changing the Pavillon Student Entrance so students could more easily enter games.
Arranged to have Cafe Nova open as a Finals Week Study Space.
Worked with the Office of Student Involvement to bring student voices into the Student Organization Approval Process, and to support student organization programming through the Nova Nights Grant.
Met consistently with Dining Services to voice student feedback and collaborate on various projects, such as free coffee during finals week and advertising Night Bytes.
Worked throughout the semester with the University Counseling Center to promote their Fall 2019 Mental Health Series.
Helped host the Off-Campus Housing Fair and Welcome Back BBQ for off-campus students.
Volunteered at Radnor Run, the area's largest charity race in support of the American Lung Association.
Attended the City 6 Conference with area student governments.
Strengthened relationship with our neighbors through participation in a Campus Community Dialogue.
Received an award from Radnor Township for past volunteer efforts.
Student Voter Empowerment Act of 2019: Established a Special Committee on Student Voter Empowerment, which worked with the Office of Government & Community Relations to launch "Let's Vote Nova."
American Sign Language Inclusion Act: Voiced SGA's recommendation to the University that courses in American Sign Language (ASL) be classified as Diversity 1 courses.
Expansion of VSB Peer Tutoring Services: SGA's commitment to exploring the level of student satisfaction with the tutoring program within VSB and recommending expansion of the program.
"From the Ground Up" Sponsorship: Donated $1,000 to the social justice documentary crew "Glass Rose Films" for the purchase of medicine and medical supplies on their filming trip to Tanzania over Fall Break.
International Student Outreach Act: Collaborated with Villanova International Students Organization (VISO) to provide transportation to Giant before academic breaks, and donated $750 to co-sponsor VISO's annual UNITY concert.
Opposition to Follett Access Proposal: Voiced SGA's opposition to a Follett Access, a proposal under consideration by the University that would move textbooks onto tuition, and recommended that the proposal in its current form be rejected.
Nova Nook Education & Support Act: Partnered with the Office of Health Promotion and POWER Peer Educators to host a Nova Nook awareness table.
Spread the Spirit Campaign: Participated in Villanova's annual "Spread the Spirit Campaign" by adopting several children from the North Light Community Center and providing them Christmas presents.
